THUMBPRINT COOKIES

real easy and freeze well

2 sticks butter or margarine

1/2 c sugar

1 egg YOLK

2 c flour

jam or jelly

Cream butter & sugar. Beat in egg yolk. Mix in flour just until incorporated.

Roll into small balls about 1" diameter.

Place on cookie sheets.

Flour your thumb lightly. Make a depression in the center of each ball to flatten slightly.

Fill with jam or jelly.

OVEN: 350º

BAKE: 12 - 15 minutes or until golden

cool on rack

YIELD: 4 dozen
